Nino Philip

Meet Nino! He has been climbing since he was seven years old. He grew up in the Hautes-Alpes region of France, where he first discovered the sport on natural rock formations. He also trained early on in spray walls and spent countless hours bouldering in Ailefroide. As a teenager, he competed in lead climbing and bouldering. For him, though, climbing has always been about more than just competition—he's passionate about every facet of it! His first sculptures were crafted from wood. A lifelong sculptor, he began working with wood as a child and has exhibited his work. Early in his shaping journey, he collaborated with his friend and fellow setter, Maxime Sembely, to create a series of wooden macros. After meeting the CCE team at a trade show, he began working with them. He sees CCE as a platform that empowers creative minds to bring their ideas to life, especially in a niche field like hold shaping where visibility is limited and few take it up seriously.
